Annual Giving Campaign - Pledge!

Thanks to YOU, the more than 60% of Hillsborough parents who have already made a pledge to our 2009–2010 Annual Giving Campaign, HSF has raised nearly $2.3 million for our schools! What a testimony to the commitment of our parents to PAVE the way for our children’s future success. We can’t thank you enough for your generosity.

BUT, we are not there yet. HSF's goal of contributing $3 million to the district for the 2010–2011 school year can only be met with everyone’s support of our Annual Giving Campaign and HSF Events. Please help us reach our goal of 100% family participation so that we can keep our class sizes small and our amazing programs in place.

You can still participate by pledging online, mailing your pledge envelope to the HSF Office at 300 El Cerrito Ave, or emailing your commitment to Julie Switky, HSF Executive Director at julie@hsf.org, or paying online.

Your Pledges, Attendance at events, Volunteering, and Enrolling online make it possible to continue Hillsborough’s tradition of excellence in education. Here's to another great year for the Hillsborough Schools and HSF!

Why do we need the Hillsborough Schools Foundation? The Hillsborough community recognizes the large gap between government funding and the amount needed to provide our children with the education they deserve.
Our state funding is currently based on our local property taxes. Surprisingly, just 17% of your property tax money goes to education in our school district and represents only 58.2% of the HCSD budget.

The money our district receives from taxes isn’t enough to keep class sizes down and maintain all the programs we have come to expect. The donations raised by HSF help HCSD implement the programs that foster high academic achievement for our children.

The Hillsborough Schools Foundation, entering its 30th year, is one of the most successful school foundations in California. We hope to keep working together to support our tradition of educational excellence in our school community. Help PAVE the way to a strong foundation for our children by continuing to show your support.

"As a parent and teacher, I am both a donor and a beneficiary of the Hillsborough Schools Foundation. Having previously worked in a district where the classes had as many as 35 students, I can see that the smaller class sizes made passible by HSF have had an enormous impact on student learning. Having only 20 students in class allows me more time to help struggling students, challenge gifted individuals, and communicate with families."
