Hillsborough is a small spot on the broad map of the world; but it is a mighty spot, connected around the globe by its multi-cultural families and schools dedicated to educating students for a global future.
Amazingly, Hillsborough families come from over sixty-two different countries around the world! Hillsborough children have a passport to this greater world through our diverse community and outstanding educational programs.
The Hillsborough Schools Foundation is proud to be supporting our schools, as they prepare our children to become an important part of the 21st century global community.

The gap in funding in the Golden State is evident in California ranking as the 30th in the nation in expenditures per pupil. The District of Columbia, New York and New Jersey rank as the top 3 states,
exceeding California spending per pupil by over $5,000. It is difficult to see how California can fund this gap.
In Hillsborough we recognize the large gap between monies received from state and federal funding and the amount needed to provide our children with the education we believe they deserve. We are fortunate to receive extraordinary financial support to help us narrow this gap. Contributions to the Annual Giving Campaign and the support of HSF Events have enabled Hillsborough to be ranked not 30th, but among the top 7 states in expenditure per pupil.

The donations raised by HSF help the district to implement outstanding programs that foster high academic achievement, fund the study of foreign language in all grades, and support the purchase and use of cutting edge technology to help students connect beyond our borders in learning about their world. Your donation this year will help us continue to narrow the financial gap and open up the world to our students.
"The world is becoming smaller and more connected by the minute, and the state of education in California today cannot be considered in isolation from that world or the changes occurring in it."
— Jack O'Connell, State Superintendent of Public Instruction
