The Second Annual HSF Family Fun Day is a great way to participate and celebrate the end of a successful school year, and kick off the summer! After last year we received much useful feedback on what you would like to see at this year’s Carnival.  We welcomed your feedback and have made several additions and adjustments to this year’s format: Extended hours, expanded entertainment/attractions, field games and the ability to lessen the cost for you by volunteering.  We look forward to seeing you at this fun and exciting event.  17th Annual Hillsborough Family Fun Run

Young or old, runner or walker, there is something for everyone. The NEW 2K Course encourages our youngest community members to participate. The 5K and 10K courses start and finish at North Elementary School after winding their way through the beautiful tree lined streets of North Hillsborough.
Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on all courses. Fun Run start time 8:00 a.m.

 Family Fun Day Carnival

 After you run or just wake up, stroll over to the Family Fun Day Carnival on the North and Crocker School Fields and Tennis Courts. This year open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Rides and Game Booths (3 Zones)

Zone 1: North Field (lower)

Open to all ages, attractions and field games for elementary school age and younger.

Carnival midway games, jumpys, trampoline harness, defender dome, jungle climb, water park, field games, face painting and arts and crafts.

Zone 2: Tennis Courts

Special 6 and under Kiddie Zone

Jumpys, obstacle course and toys.

Zone 3: Crocker Field (upper)

Open to middle school age students.

Extreme attractions like mega trampoline harness, rock wall, water balloon launcher, water park with giant water slide, Dance Dance Revolution, and field games.

Music and Entertainment (North Field)

Live entertainment provided by the Crocker Students and others.

Food (North Field)

Barbeque lunch prepared by Central County Fire Department, Jamba Juice, IT’S IT, popcorn and gourmet coffee will be available for purchase.

New this year…Volunteer for two hours or more at the event and receive a free general admission!

This year we will be using wristbands exclusively for access to all inflatables/attractions. Adults and children who will not be using the jumpys or other attractions can purchase the "General Admission" tickets for $15.00.

All ticket prices will go up $5.00 at the door on the day of the event.

Volunteer Opportunities

This special event will require the volunteer efforts of many parents and members of the community, with commitments ranging from those who wish to be involved in the planning and development phase to those who may wish to volunteer only on the day of the event for one hour or more. As in all wonderful and well-run events, we need your help!

Hey Crocker Students! Sign-up in April 2011 to volunteer at the Family Fun Day Carnival for Community Service hours.

 Course Information

 2K Course (Run/Walk)

The 2K Course has a new route this year. Warm-ups will be held on the North field. The race will start on Eucalyptus at Ralston at 8 a.m. and will take runners/walkers for a out and back on the city streets. This course is fun and encourages our youngest community members to participate. The run will finish at the Bridge School parking lot on New Place Road.

 5K Course (Run/Walk)

Starts and finishes at North Hillsborough Elementary school after winding its way through the beautiful tree lined streets of North Hillsborough. Strollers and wheel chairs are welcome on all courses.

10K Challenge Course (Run)

The 10K course will include a more challenging race. 10K runners will begin along the 5K Course, continuing right at the 3 mile marker for a partial loop before ascending up New Place Drive at the 5 mile marker. Once the 10K runners have reached the top, they will have a fast descent down to the finish line. See course maps.

Jokes, water and Fun Run volunteers will be present on the routes to make runners laugh, help quench their thirst and cheer them on. A First Aid Station will be located near the Finish Line.

No Skateboards, Bikes, Roller Skates or Pets Allowed on the Courses.

 Awards

 Ribbons for all 2K runners. Medals to top three male and female finishers in each age division in the 5K and 10K races.

 Age Divisions

 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

The James H. Whittam Awardwill be presented to the first place boy and girl 10K finishers. Only Hillsborough School’s students are eligible.

Results

The race is professionally timed and results will be available at www.onyourmarkevents.com after the race.

Photos of Your Favorite Runner

Brightroom will be at the event taking photos. If you let them know your email address and race bib number. They will be able to identify your photos, and send you an email with a link to your race pictures as soon as they are ready.

 Pre-Race Kids Event

We will be holding Relays at lunch time at each of the elementary schools on Friday, May 7th.  Participants of the relays will receive a raffle ticket to enter the drawing for a free Carnival K-5 wristband.

Family Fun Day (Fun Run and Carnival) is held on the North and Crocker Fields at North Hillsborough Elementary School at 545 Eucalyptus Avenue, Hillsborough. map

Parking will available on the blacktop at Crocker Middle School at 2600 Ralston Avenue. map

Carpooling is encouraged.
