Volunteer Superstars

Thank You to Our Annual Giving Super Stars!

  • Hope Pilch (Annual Giving Chair) and the Annual Giving team
  • Karen Hager and Stephanie Kruse (Parent Campaign Co-Chairs) and the Parent Campaign team
  • Sandra Sun (Community Campaign Chair) and the Community Campaign team
  • Nicole Keller and Ted Dobos (Scholars' Circle Co-Chairs) and the Scholars' Circle team

HSF is proud to have so many talented volunteers working on its behalf!  Among the most dedicated of these is the Annual Giving (AG) team, which solicits donations during the course of the entire year.

Thanks to our AG Chair Hope Pilch and her remarkable team, the campaign delivered results that surpassed expectations. Stephanie Kruse and Karen Hager led the Parent Campaign which raised over a 16% increase over last year. They introduced the ACE level (Actual Cost to Educate), which represents the actual donation amount required to meet the district’s cost per student. In addition, Sandra Sun managed the Community Campaign with impressive organizational skills and retained strong community involvement in spite of the difficult economic climate. And last, but not least, under Nicole Keller and Ted Dobos’ leadership, the Scholars’ Circle Campaign increased 10% over last year, with 20% more parents’ participation in Scholars’ Circle!

We also want to take this opportunity to THANK OUR GENEROUS PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS for their support and commitment to Raising Excellence in our public schools! Together, we have made a difference.  Congratulations, and a hearty THANK YOU!

Alicia Isero and Hina Maheshwari

The generosity of the Hillsborough parent community is exemplified once again through the work of Alicia Isero and Hina Maheshwari. As Co-Chairs of the 2011 Dinner Dance, Alicia and Hina volunteered countless hours to prepare the online and live auctions, as well as running the fantastically festive evening that was Bollywood Nights. Alicia and Hina with the invaluable help of Kirsten Braccia, Cindy Chase and Kris Gartung and their committees offered scores of fun and creative auction items. They also inspired dinner dance guests to embrace the Bollywood theme. Anyone who was there knows just how incredible everyone looked. The live entertainment rounded up the experience with a full dancing spirit. The auctions, fund a need, and event combined generated an amazing $340,000.

Congratulations Alicia and Hina on a job well done!

Cathy Krikorian and Erica Damelio

HSF is fortunate to have a parent community that is fully committed to excellence. South School parents Cathy Krikorian and Erica Damelio personify this dedication based on the success of the Tennis Classic & Luncheon. Under their leadership, the event generated record attendance and raised more money than ever before.

Cathy and Erica made it look so simple as they recruited an energized team, focused on fun Pay to Play auction items and attracted a variety of vendors. They not only demonstrated impressive skills, but also were equally adaptable to changing circumstances. Attendees also commented about how much they enjoyed the shopping and elegant fashion show. Of course, we all know that the planning and seamless execution of an event of this scale is no small task.

Congratulations to Cathy and Erica for being true HSF Superstars!
